The national campaign highlights improvements to the system and promotes job opportunities across a range of disciplines and roles.

The advertising campaign covers digital, print, radio and social media.

The Victorian Government invested a record $3.8 billion in the 2021-22 Victorian State Budget to help build a better mental health and wellbeing system with better supports, environments, and facilities.

The campaign focuses on new positions in the mental health workforce that aim to deliver better outcomes for Victorians with mental illness or psychological distress.

The workforce is crucial to our mental health and wellbeing system and to realising the Royal Commission’s vision for reform.

Many mental health services experience workforce shortages across professions. The demand for workers is expected to increase as new services and models of care are delivered to support mental health reform.

The campaign launch coincides with the release of Victoria’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Workforce Strategy 2021-2024.

The Workforce Strategy is an important step towards building a sustainable workforce to support Victoria’s mental health and wellbeing needs.

The Victorian Government is providing additional funding of $41 million to support the immediate priorities outlined in the Strategy. This includes 358 new full-time equivalent positions across the mental health system.
